Higher Education in Flanders

Applied Engineering offers a 2 degree program; a 3-year program of study leading to the degree of Bachelor in Industrial Sciences (180 ECTS credits) and a 1-year program leading to Master in Industrial Sciences (60 ECTS credits)

A large number of teaching and learning methods is used to transfer knowledge and skills from the lecturer to the student. These include lectures, lectures with possibility for discussion, interactive demonstrations, tutorials, group seminars, exercises with group or individual monitoring, self-study arrangements with monitoring, study visits, project work with group or individual monitoring (see course unit description).

The following forms of evaluation are used to assess the students’ progress in their study:

written exams, oral exams, written group project work, individual written project work (papers or dissertation), exercises, reports (e.g. on study visits), verbal and non-verbal presentations, design project reports, continuous assessment. A specific description is given in the ‘course unit description’ section.
