The postgraduate wound management prepares the graduate as a professional nurse to accurately respond to the often complex care situations that the treatment of various types of wound can bring. The choice for local applications and related materials and technologies for the treatment of poorly healing wounds are still too often defined by traditional views. Within the fact that many modern and efficient dressings are developed during the last decades, is a continuous training on issues that affect wound healing needed. The supply of many wound care products, but also the diversity of protocols, whether or not based on scientific research, makes it difficult for the nurses to make an evindence based decision on woundcare.

• Broadening and deepening of knowledge, skills and attitudes among nurses in the field of wound care
• Adequate, high quality and evidence-based care to patients with acute or chronic wounds
• Interdisciplinary collaboration in relation to woundcare (healing time, nurse, dietitian, chiropodist, microbiologist and Industry)
• Evidence-based wound care rather than traditional care
