| Learning outcomes | The final objective is the development and articulation of original and adequate philosophical thinking in students embedded in the principles of free research, enlightenment and humanism. 1. for students to acquire a basic understanding (Ba) and advanced understanding (Ma) of topics and issues from the history of philosophy, ethical, logic and philosophy of science; 2. for students to acquire a basic understanding of issues in science; 3. for students to acquire necessary skills: searching philosophical and scientific sources; analysing and summarising philosophical texts; identifying, interpreting issues of a philosophical and moral purport and arguing personally held views; 4. for students to acquire communication skills by engaging in discussions, writing papers, delivering lectures and holding presentations, developing the final paper (Ba) and the Master test dissertation (Ma); 5. for those taking an interest in moral counselling: psychosocial skills; a due knowledge of philosophical organisations and humanitarian care and assistance in the pertinent institutions; 6. for those interested in teacher training: a basic understanding of and skills in teaching methodology; 7. for students to develop a philosophically-critical and humanist attitude. |
