| Learning outcomes | The Master of Communication Studies training programme is designed to teach students specialist know how, in-depth understanding and a critical entrepreneurial spirit enabling them to complete scientific studies on a self-reliant basis and to implement their findings in a socially aware manner. Objectives: Specifically, the Master training programme is designed to: 1. teach students how to design and execute a fully-fledged, socially and scientifically relevant academic study on a self-reliant basis; 2. promote students' self-development by enabling them to choose, each according to their own specific interests and sensitivities, a research theme of their own for the Master dissertation; 3. provide purposive guidance to students to arrive at an in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the self-chosen research issue; 4. teach students how to report on their scientific research for a variegated audience (academics, policymakers, and media); 5. stimulate students to assume a duly founded personal position in ethical discussions on the incisive role of communication and the media in society; 6. teach students how to translate their research findings into concrete policy recommendations from a perspective that is duly critical of existing social phenomena. |
