Knowledge: *Basic knowledge of and insight in the fundamentals and the concepts of the IT governance and assurance process. *Basic governance & assurance methods and techniques; *An advanced understanding of and insight into the business risks connected to information and communication technology. *An advanced understanding of and insight into the governance and assurance of information and communication technology planning and organization. *An advanced understanding of and insight into the governance and assurance of the development of information and communication technology applications. *An advanced understanding of and insight into the governance and assurance of computer operations. *An advanced understanding of and insight into the governance and assurance of specific information and communication technologies. *An advanced understanding of and insight into computer tools for the governance and assurance of information systems. Skills:*General competencies at the advanced level to learn to reflect in a scholarly, critical, and independent manner about complex problems connected to governance and assurance, control, and securing of information systems. *The mastery of general competencies at the advanced level to conduct one’s own scholarly research on governance and assurance, control, and securing of information systems, using in the process the scholarly paradigms that are discussed throughout the program. *The mastery of general competencies to originally and creatively apply the scholarly knowledge in the subject field and to translate them into (solutions in) a practical environment, having in mind the continuous broadening of knowledge and insights, and this both individually and in a multidisciplinary team context. *The ability to communicate in a comprehensible manner one’s own research and practical experience to peers in the field and to laymen, thus making a contribution to the knowledge in the discipline of governance and assurance, securing, and control over information systems.
