| Learning outcomes | Master of Finance a. Scientific competences The master receives a scientifically underpinned education in the broad field of Finance (including Financial Economics, Financial Risk Management. Quantitative Research Techniques Computational Finance, Asset Management, Banking and Corporate Finance). This Master Program provides a thorough education which brings the candidate to the current ‘state of the art‘. The training will also lead to specialization in a chosen sub-field of Finance (Asset Management, Banking or Corporate Finance) and will train the candidates in doing research in the chosen area. b. Professional competences While planning, making, implementing and controlling financial decisions, the master will be able to use the acquired scientific knowledge in a professional and independent way. It is important that (s)he can use his(her) background in a wide variety of situations and functions (CFO, credit analyst, risk manager,...). We aim at training the master toward a broad range of highly qualified and quantitatively oriented management functions. The master will develop a problem solving attitude necessary for recognizing and solving financial problems in a methodologically correct way. The master will provide well motivated answers and solutions based on critical reflection and well designed research methods. The master will be able to apply scientific insights and methods. The master will also be able to present and defend the solutions (s)he proposes. This implies that masters will also develop interpersonal skills such as presenting, both orally and in writing, and discussing. The master will develop and international (multicultural) attitude. c. Social competences The master acquires insight in general social developments (globalisation, ‘new economy‘, aging populations and the impact on pensions |
