| Learning outcomes | Master in global management In many management training courses, only specific parts of management are being addressed or management is specifically situated in an international context. The MGM wants to go further, namely by integrating the different aspects of management and by focusing on the ever increasing internationalization and globalisation of the world economy and the global management practices used to this respect. Students in the MGM-program, with none or little working experience, but with a diverse cultural and educational background and with a common interest in global business will develop several core competencies. The program is being taught in English. Core competencies - To gain knowledge into the different management functions, such as accounting, finance, marketing, HRM and to integrate them into understanding the development of the organization, thereby keeping in mind a balanced decision making process. - To evaluate the chances and opportunities in an ever changing context of a specific internationally operated business. - To gain insight specifically into the globalisation problem and the European integration and the impact on the way of doing business internationally. - To stimulate attitudes, such as initiative, entrepreneurship, leadership, will power, and perseverance, self-control, and self-motivation, - To develop social and communicative abilities in English, leadership and team spirit in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team. - Sense of realism and practicality. - To develop the ability to tackle problems and entrepreneurial questions on a scientific basis. This entails: - To arrive independently and in team to formulating a scientific problem within a company setting; - to develop the appropriate research methodology; - to acquire and to analyze critically the empirical data and the conceptual thinking patterns in order to come to a scientifically based understanding. - To develop a critical and scientific point of view into methods and techniques within the limits of industrial research. |
